"Shupikai Chasara" set to release her highly anticipated Video Album to market Kariba Tourism | @maddrockervybz_ent

Zimbabwean sensational singer/songwriter Shupikai Chasara is to release a new Video album titled "Welcome to Kariba Zimbabwe"to showcase Kariba's Tourism Potential.

'Welcome to Kariba Zimbabwe" it is a 6 Track album that was recorded at Big Sound studios and is being marketed by Gramma Records with songs "Welcome to Kariba Zimbabwe, untamed Kariba, Huyai Tifare and Kariba is so cool, other are Kariba Inzvimbo Yakanaka and
Ziva Zimbabwe.

The Singer says: so far I have already completed three songs on the
album, "Welcome to zimbabwe, Ziva Zimbabwe and Kariba is so cool" which will soon be airing on ZBC TV.  Said Shupikai Chasara!!


Asked on why she decided to do an album on Kariba, Shupikai says her aim is help market the resort Town so that it can reclaim its lost glory of the 1990s and early 2000 when the Town was ranked one of the Best Holiday
Destination in Southern Africa.

Shupikai Magaso, Born born Shupikai Chasara on the 17th of June 1969 in Banket, Lomagundi, is the 3rd born child of the late Luke Chasara a former employee of National Railways of Zimbabwe from Mutoko and Enersia kufaihore Chasara from Mashumba in Hurungwe.

Shupikai did her primary education at Kuwadzana Primary School in Blanket from 1975-1980 before moving to the capital city, "Harare" where she completed her primary
education at Rugare primary school in 1982.

In 1983 after passing her Primary school exam, Shupikai was accepted at Kambuzuma High School where she studied her secondary school education.

During her secondary school days at Kambuzuma high
school, Shupikai joined Scripture Union and where her talent in music and poetry Developed, at the same time.

Shupikai also learnt how to play guitar which resulted in the school administration to choose her as a lead singer during School Assemblies.

During her stay Kambuzuma secondary school, Shupikai also led Praise and worship team at the near by ZAOGA Church branch where she also learnt how to play a saxophone.
"My days at high school helped me a lot in realising my dream, I learnt a lot in terms of how to play music instruments" she recalls.

In 1987, Shupikai Married her childhood sweetheart "Never Magaso" who she has four Children with. Joshua, Abigail,Caleb and Miriam who is a vocalist in her band.

In 2000, Shupikai obtained a diploma in child day care at Intec college of South Africa and worked for Hwange Local board for 2 years.
While working for Hwange local board she manages to record her first 8 track album "ZVINODA NYASHA" under the Rebel One. left studios which featured hit songs
like Upenyu, Shingirira, Just humble yourself and When are you coming. among others hits.

Her successful album which was Marketed and Distributed by Metro studios sold thousands of copies across the Country and beyond culminating into her first show in 2004 at Harare Gardens. The show attracted the likes of
Mai Nababa Patai, Remmington Mbeya and Pastor Juru and many more.

In 2006 Shupikai signed with Redrose Entertainment Records and recorded her second album "IVAI NESU" which did not do very well, but this did not discourage her on her
path to Stardom, she quickly entered studio and started working on her third album 'CHIKUMBIRO' which saw her
sharing stage with Top Gospel singers in 2006 and getting sponsorship from Edgars Store.

Shupikai: "My third album did quite well, it made a break through and saw me do another Project with the National Aids council assisted by Medelline Dube but however at the end i failed to get sponsorship as you can recall 2007-2008
things were tough economically,"
Shupikai recalls that during the same period, she Managed to hold shows with Amos Mahendere which helped her alot in terms of logistics.

" Mahendere's band used to played for me at shows. my last show with Mahendere was at Chitungwiza aquatic complex backed by Amos and Fungisai, it was a great show," said the singer.

Shupikai praised her friends Ivy Kombo, Carol Mujokoro and her musician husband, Never Magaso for inspiring her in her long journey in music career.
"Without my Husband and friends I would have not achieved what I have achieved so far, my husband is also a Musician. he plays trombone and so understands music very well, from the time i started my professional career in music he has been Managing my band and supporting
me. He is the one behind my success,"

Band Members, Norman Tapambwa, Joseph, Drums and percussion, Elisha Tsepo, Backing vocals Jonah mgazi, Vimbai Madungauta, Blessing Mashonganyika and Shadrek
Bakolo. Others are Rosebud Chakanetsa and her daughter Miriam Magaso.
